Luismal Ferreiras claims Dominican Rep. LNB weekly honour

Talented Luismal Ferreiras (200-PF-2003) had an amazing evening in the last round for Indios de San Francisco and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 21-year old power forward had a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Caneros (#2, 7-5) with 18-point margin 89-71. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Indios moved-up to the 3rd position in Dominican Rep. LNB. Indios is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-6 record. Ferreiras just recently signed at Indios, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ferreiras has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.4ppg) and averages solid 1.3bpg and 54.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American point guard Taz Sherman (184-PG-1999) of Reales de La Vega. Sherman impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Reales lost that game 96-101 to slightly higher-ranked Soles (#5, 6-7). This loss caused Reales to drop to 7th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-6 record. Sherman is one of the most experienced players at Reales and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Richard Bautista (185-PG-1997) of Titanes del Distrito Nacional (#4). Bautista showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Bautista's great performance the Titanes lost 84-87 to the lower-ranked Leones (#8, 5-6). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Titanes ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 7 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Bautista could help Titanes to bring them higher in the standings. Bautista has a great season in Dominican Republic. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.7ppg (5th best), rebounds with 7.3rpg (8th best) and assists with 7.8apg (2nd best).
